Expect TAWS approval the week of November 22

The certification of Class B TAWS for Garmin GPS 500 and GNS 530 systems is now with the

FAA, and Garmin anticipates deliveries of new units to begin approximately 1 to 2 weeks after

approval is received. Please keep in mind that a significant backorder exists for new, TAWS equipped units. Check with Order Administration for your order position prior to scheduling customer installations. Aviation distributors can begin scheduling existing installations for TAWS upgrades at the same time, but a similar backorder situation will exist for upgrades. Noncertified Terrain upgrades for both 400 and 500 series products are expected to begin in January 2005. We expect significant demand for both upgrades and will be notifying you as we approach these dates of our turn around times and RMA procedures to accomplish these upgrades.
