Aircraft Instrument Systems: Blue Angel Aviation leads the way in instrument system troubleshooting (electric, vacuum, electronic), repair, and new installations. From an Attitude Indicator, to a full featured Engine Monitor, we pride ourselves as the company that keeps you erect, on course, in tune, and aware of pending problems. No single instrument provides the perfect answer to all problems, but with new and advanced systems available to the GA owner, flying becomes a safer means of transportation. Standby vacuum systems, standby electrical systems, engine monitoring systems, emergency lighting and power backup systems, vacuum pump failure indicators are all just a small part of what Blue Angel Aviation does to make flying safer (with the help of the Manufactures of these systems) for both the VFR pilot, or the experienced IFR pilot. PRIMARY FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS: Century (Edo-Aire), King (AKA Bendix/King, Allied Signal, Honeywell), and a host of other manufactures, use the Attitude indicator for pitch and roll inputs to the autopilot. Simply put, the Attitude Gyro fails and the autopilot does too. Some manufactures use the turn coordinator for the Autopilot operation, and it is just as important as the Attitude gyro in that it fails so does the Autopilot. Who overhauled your Gyro? Hoses checked? Filters good? Gyro aligned to the Autopilot? Connectors making good contact? IFR at night and wondering? Blue Angel Aviation uses the best Instrument shops in the country which provide the greatest warranty period and customer support on overhauled instruments! Blue Angel Aviation Technicians inspect, check, and repair all parts of the instrument system to ensure long, trouble free, and safe operation for you and your aircraft. When the installation or repair requires it, Blue Angel Aviation Technicians fly with you to ensure the systems are operating at peak performance, including alignment, calibration, and training (and we do it as a requirement not an option!). ENGINE MONITORING SYSTEMS: Electronics International, JP Instruments, and a host of other manufactures are providing the added level of safety with advanced engine monitoring systems. CHT, EGT, TIT, OAT, Oil temp, Fuel Flow, Fuel consumption, and Carburetor Temp are some of the most common features that provide the pilot with information on how the engine is running, aids in the troubleshooting when there is a problem developing, and provides for trend monitoring. Several operators that we have installed these systems in their aircraft say "it's a downing gripe if the engine monitor is inop". That's how important these monitors have become! BACKUP AND STANDBY SYSTEMS Vacuum pumps, by design, are very reliable (that is until you need it when shooting the approach down to minimums), and other than the number of hours of use there's not much to do to them. But when the pump fails it can ruin your day! With autopilots that utilize the attitude gyro for pitch and roll inputs it can become a very interesting ride (aerobatics in the clouds will help strengthen those loose muscles) that could lead to disaster! At Blue Angel Aviation we stress the importance of system failure warning devices (AKA a red light). We install low vacuum warning lights in the pilots primary field of view which will illuminate when the vacuum, or pressure, drops below a pre-determined level. We also install standby vacuum systems, along with standby indicators, from several different manufactures. The new Mid Continent Instrument 4300 series of attitude indicators are a fine choice for either primary or secondary, and can be equipped with an emergency backup battery that keeps the gyro lit, and running, in case there is a total loss of power. Emergency backup battery packs, along with standby generators and alternators can power your electrical system (at a reduced load) allowing the flight to continue to an airport where repairs can be made. The added piece of mind will make your flights much more enjoyable, not to mention how the passengers will enjoy the lack of excitement! When looking for instrument installation, repair, or training put Blue Angel Aviation at the top of your list.
