Alan at Cecil Field!
Alan's arrival has got to be one of
the best anyone could wish for, in a C-47 (DC-3) escorted by the
Aeroshell Team, and
Stewart Dawson covering the
rear in a Skyraider. WOW!
There were so many acts performing
that this had to be one of the greatest Airshows ever!
To say the show was a success would
be an understatement, and the dedication from the Airshow Family proved
it with hours and hours of flawless performances under nearly perfect
skies!
For Alan, Jennifer, Skylar, Brandon,
and his entourage, the day's were filled with smiles, and some great
therapy.

Garmin Receives FAA’s First AML-STC for
GPS/WAAS Avionics on Helicopters
Garmin
announced it has been granted the FAA’s first ever approved model list
supplemental type certificate (AML STC) for Wide Area Augmentation
System (WAAS) avionics installed in a helicopter.
The AML-STC is
for the installation of the Garmin GNS 400W/500W series and includes
approval for IFR flight and steep approach lateral-precision with
vertical (LPV) guidance.
As part of the
IFR certification, the GNS 400W/500W series is certified for custom
steep LPV approaches for up to six degrees, flying by hand or with a
fully coupled autopilot. These custom approaches present advantages and
safety features unlike any other avionics system for helicopters.
With this
comprehensive AML-STC, GNS 400W/500W series units may be installed in
approximately 50 different makes and models of helicopters including the
Bell 206, Enstrom 280FX, Agusta A109, Eurocopter EC135, MD Helicopters
600N-NOTAR, Robinson R22 and R44, and many more.
